Since 1996, I've been writing for organizations in the Quad Cities area. Churches, community groups, support groups, benevolent organizations and hobby clubs have all given me the experience I need to make things happen.
I have a passion for helping, for making things better, easier, and more profitable for these groups. I served as the newsletter editor for our local quilt guild for 2 years and made it pay for itself for the first time ever, utilizing advertising in the monthly publication. I've served as a publicist for SKP Ministries for 4 years, developing press kits, press releases, letters, posters, advertising and building a relationship with local media. Limited budgets just made it more challenging and fun.
At present, I am the web master for our Church's web site and manage the publicity for the congregation. I also serve as publicity chair for one of our elementary school's PTA Chapter. I have such a passion for these organizations and want to help where I can. Saving them money or getting free press is my biggest thrill.
My experiences just showed me that I wanted to pursue this career. After some searching, I found the American Writers and Artists Institute and enrolled and completed the course for copywriting. I've also studied yellow pages advertising, internet marketing, catalog writing and writing for non-profits. I love learning and always enjoy a challenge.
I live near the Quad Cities, Illinois with my husband and 2 kids. I teach Sunday school, love to cook, quilt and listen to music of all kinds.
Let's talk about what I can do to help you improve (or develop) your maketing plan and let's do it now!
